Outdoor Wedding Ideas & More!

If you’re planning your wedding for fall, you are in for a treat. The air is crisper this time of year, making it an especially romantic season to cozy up with loved ones to celebrate your marriage.

The landscape transforms into shades of jewel hues as the leaves begin to fade in early September. Consider hosting your wedding ceremony outdoors to take full advantage of this beautiful changing scenery. You can also add some fall flair such as rustic and bohemian touches into your celebration. Here are some of our favorite tips for throwing a festive fall wedding:

Embrace outdoor ceremony views: Whether you plan to say I Do in Stonegate Manor’s fairy garden, front lawn pergola, or bridge to forever, there are plenty of outdoor ceremony options to take advantage of on the estate. During fall, you’ll be treated to a scene of beautiful fall hues as you exchange your wedding vows.

Offer quirky seating options: It’s a great season to cuddle up with friends so switch up traditional seating with comfier chair options such as vintage furniture rentals, pillows, or blankets.

Play lawn games: Let the games begin! Set up lawn games for your guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour. Some great games to set up include: bocce ball, croquet, and corn hole.

Mix in textile patterns: Decorating with handmade textures will get you a boho-chic wedding vibe perfect for autumn. Try laying down vintage rugs on the ceremony aisle or decorate seated areas of the reception with them.

While fall is a magical time of year to celebrate, you’ll definitely want to have a backup weather plan for your outdoor ceremony and reception. The US is in hurricane season throughout much of fall and the UK also sees heavy rain later into the fall season. Look for venues that also offer indoor options so you can switch up your game plan if you need to, or look into renting outdoor tents to set up so you can party outside rain or shine.
