Stonegate Manor Events is located between two quaint downtowns in SW Michigan, along Lake Michigan’s beautiful Sunset Coast. St. Joseph is the closest beach community (10 minutes away) that offers many dining choices, unique shops and several beaches to visit. Light house lovers need to check out Tiscornia Beach. Benton Harbor’s art district is 10 minutes away in the opposite direction and is rich with dining choices, unique picture opportunities and really cool shopping! Our venue is in the heart of Michigan wine country, boasting dozens of microbreweries and wineries. Southwest Michigan’s coastline has become one of the Midwest’s most popular destination wedding locations. There are not only several hotels less than 15 minutes away, but there are even more Airbnb options! Our hidden gem of a venue is less than 7 minutes away from the closest Lake Michigan beach, and 90 minutes from Chicago – talk about convenience and beauty! Make sure to book early, especially if you have a specific date in mind!
There are specific hours of Elopement/Micro- and Petite weddings. Otherwise, the property is rented on Fridays from 12 noon until 11pm. Saturdays from 12 noon to 12am. Sundays from 12 noon to 10pm. We often times will have tours and/or rehearsals before noon on the day of your event.
All personal decorations must be removed at the end of your event and the property is to be vacated. Additional set-up/tear-down time can often be accommodated at an additional charge of $300/hour.
With ceremonies our Wedding Cottage will be open from 8am to 8pm.
The 1847 Manor house can be rented out from 12pm to 8pm.
While there are many areas on the property you may exchange your vows, we have two very special sites: The classic Pergola on the Lawn and the wooded Fairy Garden. A mossy, winding brick path leads you to the beautiful Pergola. The Fairy Garden is nestled in the woods and is bordered by dozens of hostas and ferns. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will work with you to find the perfect backup solution.
We do have two preferred caterers – CK Catering and Classic Catering. However, any licensed caterer may be used with prior approval of the venue. It is essential they know what our resources are and we know they will treat our property with respect. Self-catering is allowed in the Manor House but not in the Riverside Room. The cost of the catering service is not included in your rental contract.
Stonegate Manor Events has a Liquor License and therefore a full-service bar. After you tour the estate we can provide you with our customizable beverage packages; designed for all tastes and budgets! Full service packages range from $19 to $48 per person!
We maintain a list of vendors who, in our experience, provide excellent product and service. We are happy to provide you with that list after you tour the estate. However, our list is not exhaustive and there are many other excellent vendors in the area from whom you may choose. All vendors must have a vendor agreement on file prior to working at Stonegate Manor Events.
Reception tables and chairs are included in your package! We work with you to design a floor plan unique to your event. Our staff will set up the tables and chairs before your event begins. Many caterers include linens in their wedding packages. If they do not, please ask us for linen prices!
We have two options for that! The use of the air-conditioned and renovated Wedding Cottage (the original carriage house on the estate) is included with the ceremony. An additional space, the Manor House, is available for “Day Of” rental. The Manor house has 3 dressing rooms and 1½ baths. Who gets ready where is entirely up to you!
Stonegate Manor Events is located on 12 wooded acres with a koi pond and all sorts of temptations exist for children. We love kids and enjoy seeing them be part of the festivities in a safe manner. We require all children less than 16 years of age be closely supervised by an adult at all times. Diaper changing areas are available in both the male and female restrooms.
Yes! We welcome pets of all varieties on the property so long as they keep their humans on a leash! And, their human ensures any “accidents” will be cleaned up. Out of respect for future guests with allergies, we do not allow pets inside any of the buildings.
The Stonegate Boutique is a large eclectic collection of items…signs, vases, votives, chalkboards, milk glass items, doilies, mirrors, Victorian birdcages, old crates, and much more. These are all free for you to borrow and make for amazing photography.
We do not allow items to be glued, nailed, tacked, or stapled inside our facility. We have installed heavy-duty decorative hooks along the walls to accommodate anything which you’d like to hang on the walls. We can also hang decor from the exposed rafters inside the Riverside Reception Room. All decorations must be entirely removed at the end of your event. We do not allow the throwing of rice, glitter, artificial flower petals, etc. outside. Candles must be entirely enclosed – votives are fine. No fireworks or sky lanterns are allowed on the property (we’re surrounded by mature woods). Balloons must be tethered, both inside and outside. Sparklers are allowed for a “send-off” period on our paved areas. Children must be assisted by an adult if using sparklers.
Yes! The Riverside Reception Room and two ceremony sites are fully handicap accessible, including the bathrooms. We have conveniently located handicap parking. The Manor House was built in the 1800s and, unfortunately, not entirely handicap-accessible.
Yes, we do require a $1,000,000 event and host liquor liability insurance prior to your wedding. The price is usually less than $175 and provides valuable protection and peace of mind. We have sources we can refer you to.
To book your event is simple. First let us know what package and add-ons you would like. Then include the renters names, address, phone numbers and email information – we will email the Rental Agreement. The Rental Agreement can either be electronically signed or you can mail the signed Rental Agreement with your first payment either via check or credit card. Credit card payments are subject to a 4% processing fee. The first payment is a 50% non-refundable deposit and the balance is due 120 days before your event. Once both the signed Rental Agreement and payment are received your celebration is officially on the calendar!

PETITE WEDDING PACKAGE
If you are looking for something elegant and intimate our Petite Wedding package is perfect for you! You pick a 5-hr period to fit your vision. Whether it’s noon to 5 pm…creating the feel of an elegant “afternoon tea”, or starting later into the evening…creating an entirely different ambience. The time period is up to you!
Up to 2 additional hours are available at $350/hour. Up to 10 additional guests are okay at $50 per guest.
The couple and children under 10 years of age are not included in the guest count!

Our Elopement package is an easy, low-stress way to marry the person of your dreams without sacrificing any of those traditions which help create beautiful memories. Celebrate with your closest family and friends in elegant style. We book elopements only 4 months in advance!
What a great way to provide a central hub while leisurely preparing for all your wedding festivities. Up to 3 hosted events…rehearsal dinner, wedding, post-wedding brunch, etc…all in one central location. Host them all inside the Riverside Room or the Wedding Tent or mix it up. No need to try to make group reservations elsewhere! While up to 7 people may stay in the Manor House overnight, it really is most comfortable for 2 or 3 couples.
